Wetlands Information
The Saddle Creek community was developed in and around both preexisting wetlands and new wetlands created as a requirement of the community development. Maintenance of the majority of the wetlands is the responsibility of the Saddle Creek CSD. The wetlands must be strictly maintained in accordance with federal permit requirements. The configuration of the wetlands in Saddle Creek is truly special as it was designed to act like a “filter” for golf course runoff water, removing fertilizers and other chemicals before any wetlands waters run off to the surrounding creeks and lakes.
Due to the complexity of the wetlands permits and related documents, Castle & Cooke in 2016 prepared several wetlands reports intended to simplify the explanation of their operation and maintenance, and responsibilities of the various entities involved with them. The reports are listed below:
