CVCSD Services and Coronavirus (COVID-19) Response, March 23, 2020 by Peter J. Kampa, General Manager
We certainly hope that this message finds you and your loved ones well. The purpose of this message is to provide information on the status of CSD services as of today’s date, mid day. Please know that many times it takes us hours, if not portions of days to learn of new federal or state mandates, CDC requirements, etc and to put those into action. Please understand that we do NOT act on any directives other than those given to us by the County Health officials or other government agencies.
That said, at this point, CVCSD management has determined that our government functions of road maintenance, mosquito control and fire hazard reduction are considered an essential service for the purpose of determining whether our staff is working, or not. We are easily able to provide more than the recommended social distances, and have maximized disinfection procedures in the office and in CSD vehicles/carts. Employees who have any illness symptoms are not allowed at work, and we have assured our staff that their income and jobs are NOT in jeopardy for staying home when sick during this crisis.
We provide appropriate PPE for all employees. We are not allowing contact between the CSD employees and residents/visitors, and will focus our work on the most mission-critical tasks. As the requirements and definition of essential services is modified going forward, we will make appropriate adjustments in our staffing and services. Our office functions are conducted remotely, and CSD Board meetings can now be held via video/conference call without having a specified meeting location.
We will post notice here of any meeting scheduled, as always. Take care, and contact us for more information related to CSD services.
Sincerely, Peter Kampa, General Manager
